I am what you would call ‘a morning person’. But even I have my limits – and leaving the house at 5am for a sunrise maternity shoot is something I will rarely agree to ;) But when Sarah and Luke asked if we could wake up before the sun and take a drive through Joshua Tree, I didn’t hesitate for a second.
Partially because I knew the photos would be 
For example – halfway through the shoot, I noticed that Luke had a bunch of crap spilling out of his pockets.
How long had that been there?
Am I gonna have to photoshop ALL of these photos??
“LUKE – empty your pockets, dude. It looks bad in the photos..”
Well – turns out that sweet Luke had been picking up trash the whole time we had been out here and had filled his pockets with other people’s garbage. I mean come on. What a guy <3
And Sarah! Sarah is one of my oldest friends and I can say that she is truly just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Her spirit is equal parts calm and playful, and she is going to be such a beautiful mom.
I’m in love with these two and with these pictures I was able to take of them in the quiet possibility of that desert morning. I hope you love them too <3
